MTB: Wilder Ranch New Year Ride!

I wanted to start the new year with some gratitude. About a year ago Rick Yee and I were in a management meeting, and our director asked us to post in the chat something we were excited about for 2021. Rick and I have known each other professionally for about a decade. He always struck me as so friendly and down to earth. When we were asked to share in the chat during our meeting, I had just picked up my Enduro and was amped to ride. Rick posted about how he had just picked up a sweet Santa Cruz 5010 on a deal from backcountry.com. I messaged him that we should go riding together. He was stoked to meet up. It was the height of the pandemic and he was laid out from Moderna. He was in and out of fever for days leading up to the ride. In typical Rick fashion, he powered through and did the full Eucalyptus/Cabin/Enchanted loop. He was a natural on the bike. I should mention he's also a fierce rock climber. Well, for the last year or so, we've ridden together almost every week. He's become one of my dearest friends, and I always look forward to our rides together. As I write this, we are planning a little mid-week leg burner today up JNT ahead of an early sunset. Thanks Rick, for the friendship and the mutual love of mountain biking. Here's a Bottom Brackets & Basslines post from our New Year's ride together!
